On that note, we at S4F would like to say thanks for the support thus far.  In the future we are going to keep looking to expand, drawing in more interest, while maintaining the fans we have.

IMPORTANT! As you can see this part is important: For people who know they will be able to pick up a shirt either on the UNCC or UBC campus (Vancouver), or in the burlington area, please send me an email at alex@sealed4freshness.com.  This is to help save people money that don't need to have shirts shipped.  In the email please include FULL NAME, SHIRT SIZE, and WHAT AREA YOU ARE IN.  If you are outside these areas you can order off the online shop with a 5 dollar shipping charge. Feel free to email me with any questions.

Kanye Had Lower Teeth Pulled and Replaced With Diamonds

Recently,

Kanye West had his lower six front teeth pulled and replaced with permanent diamonds, taking the term "Grill" to new heights.

He was quoted on Ellen saying that:

"I just thought the diamonds were cooler, there's just certain stuff that rock stars are supposed to do."

Personally, I think its hilarious and it doesn't look any where near as ridiculous as some of the other grillz out there.

I hope there is a remix on the horizon, maybe on the new album?!

Will Smith's Daughter: Willow Smith, the next Rihanna?

Today the official music video for Willow Smith's single "Whip My Hair" was released leaving me with a couple questions.

1. Could she be the next Rihanna?
2. How much voice alteration of they doing to this NINE YEAR OLD'S voice?
3. Why can't I be Will Smith's goddamn offspring!?!??!?!?!

Here is the video, and below that a video of Rihanna's hit "Rude Boy."
What do you guys think?

R.I.P. Eyedea (from Eyedea and Abilities)

Hey Guys,

Today the announcement of the death of rapper Eyedea was made.  He was part of the Hip Hop duo of Eyedea and Abilities, that may be more well known in the Northeast than any other part of the country.

His mother stated,

“It is with great pain and sadness that I tell you my son Mikey (Eyedea) has passed away, at this time we kindly request you respect our privacy as we process this devastating loss.”

In her statement she said he passed in his sleep, however there is reason to believe, and statements from his friends expressing concerns of a suicide.

Many of you may never have heard a track by the rapper, but he did have the gift of gab.

Our hearts here at S4F go out to Eyedea's family and friends.

Thanks for reading,

Whatup!

Yo Viewers,

Max here with my first post to the blog. I guess I should first talk about how I'm affiliated with s4f. I went to high school with Herko and became good friends with him especially in the end of my glory years. Herko hopped on board with picking up snowboarding again so I definitely spent the most time with him up in the mountains of vt doing whatever the hell we wanted. Like Herko, I've always wanted to create some of my own shirts, I even did the whole iron-on tee when I was younger, and also supplied my high school dodge ball team, team 'Rocket Power' with some uniforms! Needless to say, when Herko said he was really ready to go forward with a clothing company I didn't hesitate to join him! The work I will be doing for s4f is a lot of the designs/logos and other digital artwork as well as general sales etc.

I went through high school in Vermont with Herko, but now I'm out in Vancouver getting eduacated at the University of British Columbia. I couldn't be more stoked on the location and everyone I've met so far. I'd like to introduce my friend Taylor from Toronto. We both met in our first week here and have been hanging everyday since. Taylor's always down to longboard, mix electro, explore the crazy campus, or snap some amazing photos. Starting next Sunday, I'm going to be collaborating with Herko on the Sunday Night Snapshots and posting some pictures from my friend Taylor. These photos might showcase what my friends and I have been up to in BC, or just some dope photos Taylor's taken in the past.

I'm stoked to show you all more of Taylors work and hopefully soon some of his mixes!

Have a good one,

MB.

CRG Images: Sundays Snapshots

Good Evening,

Here we go on the first installment.  With s4f, we try to keep you interested, so we are going to post some cool pictures taken by photographers we know.  Max Bailey, who will be making his first post tonight, will also be posting a few pics from his friend in Vancouver.

My pictures will be brought to you by a professional photographer named Chris Gonyar, who runs and owns CRG Images, and is going to be in charge of our professional model pics in the future.

Check out a few pics from him...

T.I.: Rapper turned...Suicide Negotiator?

This past week,

The troubled hip-hop "King" T.I. found himself on the right side of the Police Tape.

While listening to the radio driving home, T.I. heard a news story about a man standing on the ledge of a 22 story building, preparing to jump.

Clifford "T.I." Harris turned the car around and drove to the building to help console the distraught man.
Upon arrival he took a video of himself on his camera, and gave it to police to bring to the man to prove it was really him at the scene.

He told the possible jumper that "It looks bad right now, but it can turn around."
T.I.  spoke from experience, having a rough year as well. (As rough as T.I.'s life could get anyway.)

My question is, did he really hear it on the radio? OR did his lawyer call him and tell him to drive over, hoping to help out in his parole hearing that is scheduled for tomorrow...

Regardless, we really know that in trouble times T.I.s

Hail to the King...

Thursdays Style Run Through: Volume 3 (Kanye Steez)

Kanye has worn some weird shit throughout the years, but when he wants to, he always has style.

Drake: Better Than Good Enough

In June,

MTV released a special documentary on the rising rap phenom Aubrey Drake Graham.  It follows him as his tours and prepared to release his first album "Thank Me Later."  It is centered on Drake's drive to hit it big, and regardless if people say he has made it to the top, he wants to make a new level and go higher.  The video is about 40 minutes long and shows the relationship between Drizzy and his producer 40.

If you have a free half an hour to check it out, I guarantee you will enjoy it, and have more respect for the artist as well.  Here is a preview, and below that is a link to where you can watch the entire thing... If you watch it, drop us a comment on this post about what you thought!

http://www.mtv.com/videos/news/531392/is-drake-the-next-big-thing-in-hip-hop.jhtml

The documentary is in parts, but they are all there on that link.

Final Note: I'm glad MTV is starting to get back to there roots of MUSIC tv.

Enjoy,

A Concert for the Ages

By now I am sure everyone knows I went to a concert this past weekend...

Or as they called it there, "G HOE- the Greatest Homecoming On Earth!"

Cali Swag District, J. Cole, Rick Ross, and Drake tore it up, but apparently that wasn't enough, because J. Cole brought out Petey Pablo (who I met after the show) and Drake brought out Birdman to perform "Money to Blow."

The only downside of a concert this big, was that going in was like walking through airport security.
i.e. My video camera did not make it in...(but the joints did!)

Unfortunately my memories will have to be kept through a Droid Camera...here are some pics from the concert, I'll post a view videos later tonight...
Crowd Shot During Piss/Joint break....20000 people

Drake was poppin of with the Lazers

It was definitely the best concert I've gone to, vids will be up later...

Word Play of the Day: Volume 13 (with a little something extra)

In response to my last post about J. Cole and Drizzy, there is something I have to say that I respect about both of them.

It's there drive to reach the top, the lack of complacency that they show even though they are already cashing in hard.

It's that type of effort that people need to put in, in order to make gains in anything they do.

Our culture is one that has defined what is attainable to going for your dreams just doesn't happen.

Everyone should aim as high as they fucking want, instead of just coasting through life.

I Know J. Cole isn't in this but it still captures his mentality.

So there is the song, with a cool video to go along with it.

Here's the set:

"So if you want the money
If you gotta make
If you the only one nd don t nobody else believe it
Then tell em to beat it
And watch you achieve it
Sing it if you want"

That verse was by: Trey Songz

So to anyone reading this, DONT EVER settle for average.

Herk

Drake x J. Cole

I have started to pay more attention to J. Cole since I booked the tickets for the concert.
This was after I read the article Complex Magazine put out of their interview with Drizzy:

This attitude has been why I have always like Drake, I mean he is a goofy bastard and doesn't really fit in, but he has the drive to get to the top like nobody else.

BUT, to the point of J. Cole... I think he may be getting a little hard headed, and he's young in the game.

Here was his response to those statements by Drake comparing him to Nas,

"You can’t call things like that, that early. You can’t say I’m Nas because, look, Nas was in the game for 16 years. What if I’m not here next year? What if you’re not here next year? I don’t think you can say stuff like that this early, but I understand what people are saying. At his status right now, he’s the most talked-about guy in the game. The Nas comparison is like, ‘He gets a little bit beyond the surface,’ but I feel like when it comes to those comparisons, it’s way to early. And you never know, 10 years from now, I could be Jay.”

Drake is also fresh to the fame, but where I come from when you are complemented, you say thank you, you DO NOT turn around and throw a quick jab at the person who said it.
I may have read to much into it, but you don't trash the hottest man in the game.

More on Drake momentarily.

Drake before the fame, never without the alcohol.

Mac Miller and I are on the same page...

A few years ago...

When I was a junior in high school, I drew up an idea for a hat just to pass the time in class.  It turned out that that design would be one of the first tee shirt designs I had made into a tee.

The mirror tee is a shirt that is supposed to show that you exude confidence.  With the text, "Mirror Mirror on the wall who's the freshest of them all?" printed on the back.

So recently, I was bumpin Mac Miller's K.I.D.S. mixtape, and I really was listening to the words of "The Spins."

At 0:24 he goes into the line "Mirror Mirror hanging on the wall, who's the flyest white boy of them all?"

It is not a big deal, buttt just throwing this out there... COLLAB TEE?!

Holla at me Mac.

Word Play of the Day: Volume 11

Hello Again,

I didn't post one yesterday, due to...extenuating circumstances...

but it is back again, like I said, tonight is Drizzy, and I hope you feel this was a good choice...

"Boy I'm on that fly shit...
I am, what everybody in my past don't want me to be
Guess what, I made it
I'm da Mo' fuckin' man

I just want you to see..."

If reading this doesn't do it...go listen to it, because Drake KILLS that entire verse and its worth a listen.

Light Dreams and Nightmares Tour

Good Evening,

In less than a week, I will be sitting/standing mere feet away from some of the biggest hip hop artists in the game.  As many of you know, I have tickets to the Light Dreams & Nightmares tour...which will be boasting a group of artists you may know, Aubrey "Drake" Graham, Rick Ross, and J Cole.

I've been stoked on this concert since I heard the tickets were about to go on sale.  I was able to cop some floor seat early for about 65 a ticket.  After looking today, the tickets are selling for 4-500 a piece on Stubhub.

However, It is unlikely any offer will persuade to sell these, especially knowing now that they are bringing a "special guest." (my mind is running on who it could be)

So, in honor of my excitement all of the "Word Play of the Day" posts will be from the performers in the concert, until the concert night....plus a few extra posts on past live performances of these cool cats, and that such junk.  So Prepare for some drizzy, ross, and J cole.

And I will kick it off with Drizzy momentarily.

~herk

Looking to the Future...

Ello Kiddies,

This coming week may turn out to be an eventful one.

Monday will mark the production of the sample of the first tee we will sell.
Here's a small amount of info on the shirt, it will be made on a California Blue Tee,  with a yellow logo,
which will be the fabric equivalent of this design...

So thats that....

Besides that,
We will be working on putting of the first Di-Cut Stickers.  so look out for that.
Those will be made with this logo,

Lastly, we are going to begin setting up the shopping cart on the website, and a facebook group to prepare for the first shirt to come out.

You'll see posts happening as these things start happening so stayed tuned, especially for the new tee pics.

The Week That Was

Another week has flown by, and Sunday night is back again.

It's been an eventful week in all respects, talking to a magazine publisher, lawyers, up and coming rappers(maybe) and screen printers.

Here is a run down of what has gone on with s4f this week:

Just a little sample of what my college tuition is going to...doodling...however it did help me come up with the new logo design.

We should have a digital version of this coming out soon.

Now...this character right here was at a recent party  I attended.

The up and coming rapper named Deniro Farrar, who is on the Black Flag Records label, the same group in charge of Wiz Khalifa's Tour.

This kid may have game, but we were unable to tell, when we requested a short freestyle, he requested money.

Maybe we will see something out of him. You be the judge...
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1XHDySRdl8g

Last but not least....

Moseyed on over to the place called the U.S. Nation Whitewater Rafting Center.

A .9 mile loop of manmade rafting river that is completely controlled by computers and contains 12,000,000 gallons of water.

With Zip lines, rope courses, and of course a rafting and kayaking river that can flow as hard is you need, its a wild time.  Definitely something to check out in North Carolina.

Take a look back in an hour or so for info on the week to come...
